Natch introduces: The nature resort PURADIS

The nature resort PURADIS - a dreamlike pioneer for sustainable luxury tourism in Austria

There are seldom places where you can immediately feel in the first few minutes after arriving: everything is just right here, where you can experience comfort and luxury in harmony with nature.
The PURADIS nature resort is such a place!

Natch visited this fantastic hotel in Austria and was not only impressed by the alpine surroundings, but also by the passion and enthusiasm with which the operators run this place with a love of nature, the environment and luxury.

We were curious: where does the energy and desire come from to create such a special place that inspires and at the same time exemplifies how sustainable tourism works?

How did the idea for this nature-loving paradise, which always reminds us of our Natch philosophy, come about?

Managing Director Michael Sebastian Madreiter spoke to us about this, you can find the exciting interview here.

What is your why behind Puradies?

Puradies was born out of a deep desire to create a place where nature, sustainability and luxury are harmonised. We want to offer our guests an unforgettable break from everyday life, where they can experience the beauty and tranquillity of the alpine environment. Our ‘why’ is to create a space that offers relaxation and inspiration while respecting and protecting the natural environment.

What is your mission and what is your vision for Puradies?

Our mission is to operate a nature resort that fulfils the highest standards of comfort and sustainability. We strive to offer our guests unique experiences in a breathtaking setting while making a positive contribution to the environment and the local community. Our vision is to establish Puradies as a leading example of sustainable tourism in the Alps that inspires and enriches both guests and employees.

What feeling do you want your guests to have when they return home?

We want our guests to leave Puradies with a feeling of deep relaxation, renewal and satisfaction. They should feel touched by the natural beauty and warm hospitality and return with unforgettable memories and a desire to reconnect with nature and come back again.

What measures do you take to consistently implement sustainability?

We implement a variety of measures to embed sustainability in all areas of our resort. These include Use of renewable energies and energy-efficient technologies

Building and operating according to ecological principles Promoting regional and organic products in our kitchen Waste avoidance and recycling programmes Training for employees and guests on the topic of environmental protection

Senior Boss Sebastian ‘Wasti’ Madreiter has played an important role in our sustainability initiatives, particularly in the use of HVO (hydrogenated vegetable oil) and the management of our organic farm. By using HVO, a renewable and environmentally friendly fuel, we are significantly reducing our carbon footprint. Our organic farm delivers fresh, organic produce directly to our kitchen while supporting local agriculture and biodiversity. These measures are central to our efforts to establish Puradies as a sustainable flagship project.

What sets Puradies apart from so many other premium and luxury hotels in the mountains?

What sets Puradies apart is its consistent focus on sustainability and closeness to nature. While many luxury hotels focus on glamour and opulence, we offer elegant luxury that is close to nature and based on simplicity and authenticity. Furthermore, our unique location in the midst of unspoilt alpine nature sets us apart. Our guests enjoy direct access to picturesque hiking trails, action-packed bike trails in the Epic Bike Park and harmonious leisure cycle paths. In winter, we offer direct access to first-class ski pistes in one of Austria's largest ski areas. This proximity to nature, combined with our focus on sustainability and natural luxury, makes Puradies an unrivalled experience.

What does Puradies 2034 look like? What else do you have planned?

In 2034, we see Puradies as an even more integrated nature resort that sets new standards in sustainable tourism. We plan to expand our ecological initiatives, increase the use of renewable energy and introduce more nature-based experiences for our guests. Our vision is to create a model for regenerative tourism practices that not only protects nature, but actively contributes to restoring and improving the environment. We also want to further deepen our collaboration with the local community and expand our commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

About the person:

Michael Madreiter MBA

After training as a tourism manager in St. Johann i. Tirol and working in gastronomy in Germany and Austria, Michael Madreiter studied economics and business administration, graduating with a master's degree and completing an MBA programme while working. After 12 years in international management consultancy and positions in Vienna, Berlin, Marbella, London and Moscow, he returned to his home in Pinzgau in 2015 and set up the Puradies nature resort.

This is the Puradies:

Puradies, that is the love of life. Being free. Skiing in winter holidays, yoga at the edge of the forest in warmer temperatures. Satisfy yourself, deeply relaxed. Yes, there is a lot to discover on holiday in Leogang, and the Puradies is also so outrageously predestined between the Asitz and Steinberg cable cars. But as is so often the case, the magic lies in the little things. We Madreiters have been mountain farmers for generations. Thinking and acting in cycles is our DNA, and the Ecolabel and Austrian Ecolabel awards are almost a formality. With us you have the choice between one of the 76 Puradies rooms & suites or one of our 14 cosy chalets. Here on 38 hectares, everyone will find their own little paradise. Arrive in the culinary Garden of Eden at Ess:enz. 3 forks, 2 toques and, in any case, natural enjoyment to the power of 2.
