PROBLEMS WITH TOOTHPASTE PACKAGING and plastic toothbrushes

Globally we produce around 20B Toothpaste tubes per year — enough plastic tubes to circle the globe 133 times. The US, UK, and DE alone account for 1.7B of the tubes, most of which end up in our rivers, oceans, or landfills. It takes about 500 years for a single toothpaste tube to biodegrade.

Add another 3.5B toothbrushes to the yearly waste, which are sold along with other dental accessories.
It is clear that something has to change.
